The flu... such an annoying illness that at times is unavoidable. Irrespective of much care you take so as not to get infected, it always finds a way to make your life even more difficult that it already is. In the following post I will talk about the flu and what can be done so as to prevent it and treat it.
First of all, we must know how to differentiate the common cold with the flu. The common cold is cause by over two hundred viruses, such as the "corona viruses", "rhino-viruses", among others; whereas the flu is usually caused by "influenza viruses" which per se are much stronger. Among the common symptoms of a cold we have: Dry or sore throat, congestion, and maybe a headache. When it comes to the flu though, we have pretty much the same aforesaid symptoms plus mild fever, aches and pains in your muscles, and minor exhaustion. Not to mention that the symptoms in a flu last longer (about two weeks).
Flues are often more serious due to the fact that they affect lungs and the joints. Thus, once they set up shop so to speak, they start whittling away at your strength. What is more, what can one do so as to heal the symptoms once you are infected?. Well, a lot of people wrongly believe that by taking antibiotics they can shorten the lifespan of a flu. Albeit, antibiotics can in fact be detrimental for your health. Owing to the fact that they kill bacteria, not viruses. Hence, weakening your immune system. On the other hand, something that does help is the ingestion of zinc that can strengthen your immune cells.
Lastly, I would say "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". Consequently, the best way so as to be far away from a flu is to get a flu shot. Once a year and acting in compliance with the doctor's instructions. Besides that there is not much else to say other than as follows: Exercising can in fact boost your immune system and of course exposing yourself to doses of vitamin D can also prevent respiratory diseases.
