You already know I love words. However, I would balk at the idea of becoming a lexicographer. Besides, it seems some are more suitable than others for these kind of jobs. Working on lexicography means a lot more than just looking up words. Since, language is evolving constantly, lexicographers need to know a myriad of phonetic rules, among others. Moreover, besides designing dictionaries and adding new variations each new edition, these experts can even create words. By the way, this time, I came across one of Erin McKean´s talk. She is a famous American linguist and Co-founder of the new online dictionary World-Link. In this particular speech, she talks about the evolution of dictionaries. For instance, she mentioned that just because online dictionaries are better than paper ones, does not mean they will replace them completely. Both can co-exist without any problem. The same happened with cars and horses. There is a bunch of people who still enjoys retro style. Further, she talked about the serendipity you can get while using paper dictionaries. We all know that each time we are looking for a word in these type of dictionaries, we run into other ones that catch our attention. Whereas, with online dictionaries you do not get that benefit. They may be faster, I grant you that. Though, they cannot provide that feeling retro ones can. Anyhow, if you´d ask me, I would definitely say online dictionaries. The reason why I would pick them is because I like to get the things that I want faster. Not always though, but you get the point. Besides, these types of searching devices bristle with unique words. You have to compile a huge paper dictionary from various little ones. Notwithstanding, still you would not get as many words as you get with the internet. There is a chasm of the benefits you can get with any of them. Be that as it may, as Jesus would say: ¨Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar´s, and unto God the things that are God´s¨. Anyhow, whatever hue you´ve got regarding this topic, it will be respected. However, do not take givens as facts, research a little more if you have doubts about something. Just because and idiotic professor believes he knows everything and tells you to do what he says, does not mean you have to foreshorten your learning process.

Had I not realized the importance of phonetics before. Do not get me wrong, I am good at producing sounds for instance. However, what I do not excel at is at memorizing the phonetic alphabet. Not that is not a simple task. Nonetheless, for some reason I had avoided even trying. Of course I´ve taken phonetic courses, and can recognize most of the symbols. Notwithstanding, my laziness stopped me from continuing. Thus, I cannot form words with the phonetic symbols just yet. Not exactly have I felt disgruntled at my teachers´ methodology. Though, I know they could have done it better. Anyhow, last night, I found this simple method on how to learn the basics. You see, one of the skills I have is to be good with my long-term memory. Ergo, just hearing most words a couple of times I can master their pronunciation. Be that as it may, I needed to go deeper. Not only because there are some exceptions to my rule, but also because I want to know more. Still are there lots of nostrums on how to learn English fast. However, as they say: No pain, no gain. Usually inexperienced people believe that crap they see on TV. You cannot learn a second language in less than a year. In Latin America, most brats these days are bludgeoned into learning English by their parents. It should not be that way though. There has to a reason other than learning English just because we are in a globalized world. People need to learn English because they like it. Or even if they don´t, at least they should find some interest in it. For example, a high school girl is eager to learn English. Why?. Since she is a ¨Directioner¨, she wants to understand the lyrics of all the songs of her favorite band. Obviously, the same would happen with any other motivation you find in learning a second language. As exulted as I am after Real Madrid´s conquest of the Champions League, I would be if new teaching techniques were implement in the Americas. Regarding languages of course. Anyway, if I had found out I was good at singing back as a kid, I would have stood ramrod straight practicing English songs. Lastly, I´d say that you do not want to end up scourged by your conscience, due to not having learned something. Not that I would like to see all learners having a bee in their bonnet about punctuation, such as me.

Last night, I ran into an amazing graduation speech delivered by the Australian comedian Tim Minchin. Not only was his talk full bon mots, but it also was motivating. I almost ended up befuddled by his intellect. However, what impressed me the most was his endless capacity to make you laugh. Far from tugging at your heartstrings after mentioning depressing topics, he managed to get a smile out of you. Besides, Tim was able to give great advice to this generation of college graduates too. He in fact numbered each piece of advice he gave, and spiced them up with a few jokes. Even though he did not bristle his talk them, still these jokes were kind of crude. Nonetheless, he pulled everything off perfectly. Tim´s approach could in fact be applied to teaching. For instance, still do many think that learning should take place in lockstep with games. Especially for kids. Moreover, I get the whole thing about teaching them values. I mean they all say that you should inculcate your offspring with this principle: ¨Do not let your children mooch off you all the time¨. Of course the aforesaid statement is more of a problem in Latin America than it is in the 1st world. Anyhow, back to teaching. Due to making the learning process more meaningful, lots of high school dropouts could be pre-empted. For instance, by applying theories such as ¨cognitivism¨ into the classroom, we could change people´s perspective towards learning. I do remember, back when I was in elementary school. There was this math teacher who used to teach us each lesson in a different way. You see he was a comedian as well as a teacher. Ergo, he always carried a clown nose and a puppet with him. Notwithstanding he was fired after a while out of an act of crass stupidity. The school principal was so ignorant about innovative teaching methods, she could not understand change. Bawling her employee out for nothing was uncalled for. Then again, I seems that her capacious mind did not have enough info on non-traditional teaching techniques. If that school´s parents had not been as stupid as the principal was, maybe something different would have happened. Perhaps, she would have rehired this awesome teacher to save face.

I have literally survived having my head smash to the floor after playing with a rocking chair as a kid; having a stone thrown at my back by school thug; being run over, among others. What´s next? I hope nothing. Was I a trouble-maker? No. I think I just was at wrong place at the wrong time. Also, I did the wrong things at the wrong time. Anyhow, why did I bring this up? Well, because I find it amazing that after all I've been through, I still remain positive. Moreover, I guess something divine saved my neck on those many occasions. I may not be sure about my aforesaid statement. Though what I am sure about is this: I have slogged my guts out to be where I am now. No longer do I defer making decisions that are going to make me a better person. I mean, I used overthink stuff. For instance, back as a child, I would malinger not to take a test at school. Why?, because obviously I had not studied. No though, many years later, I try to attend my classes no matter what. Have I learned not only to limber up for a race, but also for life. Besides, since I almost am a certified educator, I need to be versatile individual. For example, I suck at handcrafts, and am looking for ways to get better at it. Ergo, you could say I am progressing. Have I realized that I was wasting my time wrangling with my folks about my past. Further, I have learned to embraced all the thins have or have not done. Thereby, I would not bridle at any stupid comment someone were to do to annoy me. Many fear to take the first step before doing anything hard. Be that as it may, one you've done it the rest of the way is not as rough. That's why instead of probing into my own past, I decided to do something different. Should I slug it out with my alter ego to see who takes over? Yes, getting rid of the negative parts of oneself is crucial to succeed in life.

This has been a tiring week as well. You see, I am taking a dance class too. Even though it just takes place once a week, it is really demanding. Maybe, I have to get back on track. Since I stopped exercising due to my accident. Anyhow, nowadays , we´ve become desensitize to violence, among other deplorable acts we see in the news. Well, we have got so used to hearing of them that we do not care anymore. However, we do if they affect our society. For instance, I would venture to say that public transport in Peru is the worst on earth. Not only that, but it is also dangerous. It all started 24 years ago. The dictator Fujimori had just been elected. It was without a doubt the worst decision from Peruvians to vote for him. This monster held the presidency for ten years. Not only did he privatize successful public businesses; he also got rid of the only public transport company there was. He even sold all its new units. Hence, several transport companies (that were created shortly after) decided all to work independently. Thus, making a mess of Lima city. Really, you see these SOB drivers contravene safety regulations every single day. Ergo, you can see different size buses galumphing around the city and causing accidents on a regular basis. Why has not anyone done anything to solve this problem?. Let us say there are interests involved. It is true that after two decades, the municipality installed a few new units of transport. New tracks and routes were created for these tandem buses to move. Nonetheless, even now they do not cover all the city. Besides that, an over-ground train was installed too. Though, guess what? It does not cover all the city either. What happened to these crappy buses that cause havoc all over the place?. They are still in motion. No single politician has had the balls to get rid of them. Therefore, now we have an overpopulated city with lots of problems. Will us Peruvians be chortling after a change anytime soon?. I doubt that. Notwithstanding, I wish that happened. I may have talked about this topic already. However, I neglected to mention some things.

I do feel better now. As they say, even the longest night comes to an end. Besides, not that I feel like romping around just yet. Though, I am trying my best. Even though it seems that I complain all the time, I am by no means an irascible individual. I did not slake my urge to start flirting again to cheer up. However, I am going to have to do it eventually. Anyhow, I want this writing to be laced with witty remarks. Nonetheless, I really do not know what else to say. There is a battery of things to talk about. Ergo, one of them may just come to my mind right now. Well, yesterday my peers and I made a welcoming party for the new freshmen who happened to be in our program. As you may already know, the school year around these parts begins in April, and finishes in December. One of my friends declaimed a little so speech for them. Despite the fact that I wanted to do it myself, but did not feel up to it. Moreover, I know that when I finally get to give an speech, nobody will even think on heckling me. Since they will be so hooked and aswoon by it. Notwithstanding, you can be sure about one thing: It won´t be tomorrow. Of course I wasn´t talking about any simple talk. One of my dreams is to give a speech at TED. I evince lots of enthusiasm about not only that, but also many other plans. Besides, I do not my made change. Perhaps it was my obsession with time travel. I really wanted to correct my previous mistakes. To think that before I would even abscond from school if I had the chance to. Conversely, I wouldn´t do it again if it happened now. Since I love learning so much. Maybe someday I´ll become an English pundit. Anyhow, like many others, I want to get to the point in which I have all sorts of stability. Meaning economic, romantic, among others. When I get to a position of authority though; I won´t find it necessary to throw my weight around. Sure, some jobs require you to give orders. Be that as it may, they have to be reasonable ones.

I am very disappointed in myself right now. Not only had I done my part to shore up my confidence; I also was starting to do well at flirting once more. However, something happened. I was able to approach strangers and strike up conversations with them a few days ago. Since today though, I lost my spark. I think it has something to do with this: I ran into this beautiful blonde the other day while I was walking in the park. She was sitting on a bench; so I decided to try my luck. After I few minutes conversation, I got to give her my email. Since she was a tourist. However, she never contacted me. I know what they say: ¨Keep trying¨. However, for some reason I took this personally. Maybe it was something I said, I don´t know. Let us move on with today, shall we?. OK, so this afternoon after I left school a serendipitous event happened. I was just getting onto the a homeward bound bus, when I saw a gorgeous girl seated on an aisle seat in the middle. I sat behind her. Due to the fact that there was no other seat left. For I while, I was thinking what to say to her. Nonetheless, after I stood up to face her, I chickened out. It seemed as if my someone had gagged me and trussed me up. I could not talk whatsoever. Words literally would not come out. Besides, we even got off at the same stop. Really I have no idea what happened. Maybe my confidence is still sore after the previous episode. Notwithstanding I won´t give up. I don´t even need to barter my skills with some douchebag. The only thing I must do is to get back my courage. The worst part is that I don´t even have to trawl the streets for the perfect girl. Even though, I come across beauties on a regular basis, I still blow it. Would the reason to this be my deleterious stupidity?. I don´t know. Be that as it may, I know that I must be staunch supporter of the belief that I can overcome this. It may not seem such a big deal. To me though it is. Ergo, I won´t let anyone besmirch my reputation by saying I am not man enough to face off my challenges.

There is a topic I have barely touch on. You guessed it?. It is flirting. Well to start off I´d say that I am not going to talk about my personal experiences. Let´s just say that I do have some experience. Though, I have screwed up more times than I have succeeded. Was this due to shyness?. Well, yes. In fact, I took me a while to get over myself. Before, I had been staving off my worries until I decided to confront them. You see, as we all know, we should take the YOLO philosophy into account without exaggerating. Never do we know what is going to happen. Therefore, the sooner you take a step forward, the better you feel. Since flirting is one of most natural things one has to do, then is alright to make a move there too. Besides, whether or not you have trouble in that area, is something you can hash out with a friend. There are things such as personal appearance and behavior that cannot be conflated. For instance before, I thought that the way you look was so important when it came to flirting, that nothing else mattered. I was wrong indeed. Therefore, there has to be a balance between how you act and how you look. Sure, some try to change their appearance to feel more confident. Nonetheless, experts suggest that it is all about your behavior. Of course they imply personal hygiene, anybody would know that. Anyhow, a few months ago, I recommended this site called ¨Simple Pick-up¨, which is kind of good. However it would be better not to believe everything they say. By the way, something I have noticed is that learning any new skill can help you out when courting. I mean that´s old news, I know. Still though. Girls do notice, when you´re an adroit individual. If you add to this the fact that you have learned how to play an instrument, or have picked up a magic trick. Who knows?. It is more likely that you would be even luckier. Women have a thing for guys with sleight of hand.

Who wouldn't like to have ability to coast through all their rough tasks?. However, as they say, it is not fun if you don´t try your best. Moreover, being a neach is not that fun. Anyhow, the crucial thing you need to have before facing any problem is spunk. Besides, if we really want to make a difference, we should jettison all our old complexes and stereotypes. Ergo, a person who has the guts to deal with most their issues, and has learned to overcome their complexes, must have an advantage over others. Moreover, what else should we consider to be competent individuals?. What about gussying up once in a while?. I mean the more confident you feel, the better. The first impression does count. Not only is your appearance going to make a difference. We all know that. Also, the way behave will help you out. Especially in situations in which there is a lot at stake. For instance, a job interview in a very successful corporation right after you finish your bachelor´s degree. I understand you can be under lots of pressure in situations such as this. Nonetheless, if you calm down and tell the truth, everything will be alright. I mean lying about stuff that may impress your future boss is not recommended. What if they find out you were not an expert golfer?. It seems silly. Notwithstanding, trust is one the most important things that can exist among people. Further, even if you get the job by impressing your employer with lies, it will give rise to real bad stuff. Your colleagues could find out for instance, and start befouling your reputations. Really, you get in a jam of sorts. Therefore, it is still the best option in the 21st century to be honest about your skills. Besides, we want to avert problems, not to make them. I know you are not children, and probably knew this already. Though, take it into account anyway. Just remember, like I always say: Educating ourselves as much as we can is what we can do best. Not exactly by guzzling knowledge as if it were water. However, it would help to pick up a book. Lastly, I´d say, that I think I am one of the few crazy guys who is ravenous for stuff to learn all the time.

This week is not over yet and I already feel tired. However, it has been pretty frantic. Anyhow, just hope I come up with something interesting to say for this post. It makes me thresh with uncertainty that even one of you don´t like this blog. Nonetheless, I do my best each day. Ergo. hopefully that doesn't happen. Besides, I am on a streak of good luck which I hope not to end. Even though I have not been all gritty since I left high school, I was not a quitter either. Notwithstanding, I was about to become the latter. It took time and dedication to grit my teeth and keep going. Lately though, what gave me a boost was my accident. Really, I do think that being hit by a damn car in fact made me more confident. I don´t know how, but it did. Each time I do something assertive, I feel as if I were ¨Beowulf¨. Before, I thought that my situation portended a negative outcome. Now though, far from that, I think I will accomplish my ultimate goal if I set my mind to it. Just as Apollo, I´ll sit astride a horse and lead the path of my own life. You see, we all have to think positive if we want good things to come to us. In fact, we all should belong a coalition of people who try to solve common problems in their community. For instance, a neighborhood watch. Anyway, do I still want my full independence. Be that is it may, I would have to save up a considerable sum of money to move out. Ergo, despite the fact that is hard for me to admit it, I still am kind of under the aegis of my family. As a summation of what I have said so far, I would say as follows: In order to reach success, one has to remain positive. Besides toiling tirelessly, and not making wrong career path decisions at an early age. Even if you make the latter mistake, you still can manage. Though, it would be harder.
Wednesday, May 14, 2014
Sometimes I wonder if I am ever going to ultimately accomplish what I want. Even though things are picking up and I seem to be getting more confident, still do I have that fear of failure inside me. I won´t let it vanquish me though. Besides, I learned the hard way that one does not just sit around hoping something will turn up. Countless times, have I said we cannot let the roadblocks and setbacks that come our way bring us down. By the way, I recommend you to watch the movie ¨The Fighter¨. It is inspiring, especially when you feel down. Not only did the protagonist drubbed his opponents as if they were punching bags, but he also taught us an important lesson of perseverance. Moreover, we don´t have to wait to be prompted by a salvo, so that we can take action. Ergo, remaining stolid in one place will only hold us back. We have to be brave on occasion . For instance, when asking somebody out, or when standing up to an bully. What I am talking about seems cliché. However, believe me being reminded of it is worth it at times. I know whereof I speak.
Further, do not hesitate in having fun and tousling your hair each time you can. Studies have shown that laughing very often can delay our aging process a little. Life is a kaleidoscope of surprises. Some are good, some are not. What´s more, some of the mistakes we make are like errata. We cannot correct them in any way. Therefore, we must learn to live with them. That is why profiting by our mess-ups is the best thing we can do. Also we shouldn't allow anything to stifle our creativity and curiosity. Which are feelings that can change the world.

Yesterday, I had to read a whole book cause I had an assignment this morning. I mean the novel wasn´t that long. Though, of course I ended up dizzy after reading it. Why did I have to go through that you may wonder?. The answer is simple: ¨Procrastination¨. Even though, it was not a prolix writing, it was written in Spanish. That alone lowered my motivation. Nonetheless, we all know that sometimes we have to do things we do not like. Besides, solving a problem such as procrastination, is not exactly of byzantine complexity. In fact I would say that the sooner you finish of with the tasks you like the least, the better you feel. Further. we were taught as kids that if we finished our homework in time, we could enjoy a languid afternoon in the sun. Ergo, why not applying the same principle now?. The immediate reward after breaking the back of a tough project for instance. Of course our prize should be small. What counts, is that we sometimes need incentives to keep us motivated along the way to success. Moreover, it wouldn´t hurt to edify ourselves by attending conferences, reading or whatnot. Needless to say that you need an organized plan to accomplish anything you have in mind. Using analogies also helps. You see, we decant water if we want to make it cooler. What does it tell me?. That...applying metaphors and analogies help us to better figure out how to solve our daily issues. Many times, have I talked about how important it is to be an indomitable individual. That is why it is also crucial not to trivialize our own problems. If we need help, we should get it. Having a Manichean thinking for that matter, seems best. Besides, we have to keep in mind that we don´t want our accomplishments to be evanescent. But rather, we want to be remembered as inspirations for future generations. In order to fulfill that we all need to buck the trend of laziness. We must prove everyone else that they were wrong about generation ¨Z¨. Not only can we reach the apotheosis of our society as much us previous generations could, but we can also do more.

One more day, one more dollar. Or in my case, one more piece of info. Ergo, any situation in which I run into anything new to learn, gives me a chance for a tabula rasa each time. By this, I don´t mean that I reinvent myself every time I gain new knowledge. However, what adds up to my mind makes me start over in a sense. So that I can reset my ideas. Since I am to become a permanent teacher, I've learned that educating is more than just giving unstinting lessons to our students. Like they say: "Quality over quantity". Lots of masterpieces have been bastardize for the sake of making gold. We live in a society in which "YouTube", "Facebook", and smartphones are relevant in our lives. Some of the content in these sites may be deplorable. Then again, we are the ones who can choose what to watch or read. Conversely, we can also benefit from social media and YouTube. For instance, before I set out on a trip to Argentina, I can stream a short documentary to learn a bit about its culture. Whereas, by using Facebook I can keep closet to my friends, and distant family. Therefore, I would say that what the Internet has to offer are double edged swords. It is up to us whether we use them for good or not. Moreover, there is a bunch of people who have been gaining popularity over this last decade. I am talking about YouTubers of course. These guys can strut their stuff among millions of people who watch their channels. Some of them are good, some are not. There is a wide variety nowadays. As well, you can pick almost any category you want to watch. Nonetheless, the most popular ones are entertainers. To mention a few, "Shane Dawson" and "Pewdipie" are amongst the most watched YouTubers. Even though most of the time they talk about bullshit, they are still very funny and multifaceted. Ergo it may help you out when you find yourself down in the dumps. Regarding smartphones, let's say that we can not look up most of the time we are using them. So that we miss out on meeting people or whatnot if we are focused on them for no reason. Anyhow, to finish, I'd say the following: It may be in fact true the over the last few years new jobs have been created thanks to the Internet. Notwithstanding, as I said before, there are negative aspects to consider about this too. You are the one who ultimately chose what to use you computer and cellphone for.

I kind of overslept today. Well not really, since I´ve been through a lot this week. In fact I´ve been feeling kind of anxious cause of a little issue I have with one of my professors. Anyhow, at least I shouldn´t feel guilty about having more rest on Sundays. However, have I been upfront about my intentions with this blog. Ergo every time I have off and feel up to it, I will write. Even now do still want to carry out all plans I have in mind. Nonetheless, I know that is not possible. Sometimes I feel like shrilling my demands to the world. Even though, I know that would have no effect. In a recent Tedtalk I watched, I heard psychologist Alison Ledgerwood talking about how one gets over failure. People tend to think more about their flubs than their successes. Then again, who hasn´t thought about how to mend a bungled attempt to accomplish something?. Ergo, according to this keynote speaker, what we have to do is to focus on the positive stuff that we experience daily. She did not exactly mean to trumpet our own achievements. Albeit, that would help too. Rough experiences may bring us down at times. Notwithstanding, after we stand back up again, we get stronger. It seems hard to one up our rivals for instance. However, what sets us apart from others is our ability be sedulous in what we do, despite how many setbacks we may encounter. Being vanquished by our own lack of inner strength doesn't seem right. For example, Even if you have been dressed down by your boss, you still can have a good day. Further, if you think they are being unfair, you can always reply politely. Lastly, I´d say that you should consider the idiom ¨Make hay while the sun shines¨. Never do you know when your chances will run out. By the way, on Tuesday I´m having theology. Since my school is religious, I´m forced to take it. Why did I bring this up?. Well, let´s say that I consider this class one of the setbacks one has to overcome. Besides, its assignments are kind of tough. Although, nothing like an exegesis of a text.

You have no idea how tired I am. Really, after a day long trip am I worn out. Well, after posting the last video, I don´t think there is much else to say about ¨Caral¨. I did learn for instance that in ¨Bandurria¨, its inhabitants used to feed on shrimp and fish. Since there is a lake nearby. You see, Bandurria is a smaller set of ruins that is on the way to Caral. It was named after a typical bird. Besides, I freaked out when I found out about their human sacrifices. Even though they were pacifists, they did kill some of their own due to religious ceremonies. They offered up young human corpses to their gods. Besides, these younglings were even flayed and cut to pieces before the rituals ended. Did I do a double take after hearing the aforesaid statement. However, until this day, not sign of graveyards has been found. The few corpses that archeologist did find, had been buried individually. In addition, they say that men at that time and place were not that tall. In fact, they were about 1.65 m tall. Anyhow, not that I was wilting under the sun during the trip. Well, I kind of was. This is by no means a cloying complaint though. Try walking all day long and barely rest. Further, it´s not that we were lumbered with this outing. In fact, we did have fun. Nonetheless, would we have preferred it to be on another day. Moreover, it is not so good to become ensnared in having to go on a long field trip on a Thursday. Regardless of this, my mates and I comported ourselves with great respect. Being that tired may have hobbled our chances to go to school the next day. Albeit, some of us made it. Of course we had an inkling that that was going to happen. By the way, we also had loads of fun on the way back to Lima. While on the bus we started to sing and do silly stuff. Not exactly did we wreak havoc. Since we are well-behaved fellas, but we really had a great time. Further, it dawn on me one doesn´t have to spend that much to learn new things. Not even did flat tyres roiled our journey. Since the driver would change them right away. Lastly, I´d say that we feel indebted for having been given this chance to learn more about our culture. Far from being perilous, the places we visited were safe and outstanding.

It may seem weird that I´m writing twice in one day. Though since tomorrow if my outing, I won´t be able to do it then. Besides, as if by atavistic urge, I cannot stop doing what I like. There is an incommensurable difference between doing something because you have to and doing it out of pure will. Everyone that the conjunction of motivation and hard work makes for a happy life. However there is more to it than what I just mentioned. One needs a plan, and also to take regular steps in order to achieve a goal. What I mean by that is that people need to get simple tasks done effectively and quickly. As well, it is important to take into account trying to innovate and acting shrewd each day. For instance, if you want to get info from someone about a job, you don´t have pry it out of them. Conversely, you ask indirectly. By the way, did I mention being a morning person?. Well, that too. Anyhow, tonight I was watching a video on how much we can learn about alpha male behavior. In relation to evolution from apes of course. They mention stuff such as how having a good posture, giving a strong handshake, speaking with confidence, and making eye contact, can make a difference among people. Also, I could see how we males usually react against problems ailing our dominance in a situation. Experiments were made to identify who among a certain group of guys has potential to be a leader. Are there lots of more things that are talked about in this documentary. Such as how males feel more secure to stand up to a bully when they are accompanied by a female friend. Lastly, I´d say that indeed we have to consider evolution as guide to better understand human behavior, and know how to act. Further, the need to remain unbowed despite difficulties, and keep an organized strategy to carry on in life.
Yesterday, in my philosophy class, we were talking about Greek mythology. It is fascinating to know how well developed each god is. For instance I heard about how Zeus challenged his father the titan Cronus for the supremacy of the universe . Moreover, since we live in a polytheistic world, it is important to know as much as we can about other cultures. I grant you Catholicism is prominent, however, not everywhere. I look derisively at people who take any religion seriously. We have nothing for sure about them. Thus, that`s what it means to be human. Besides, we cannot let religions brainwash us.
Look at Jehovah´s witness for that matter. They show effusive praise about something they don´t even understand. One can use a styptic pencil to stop blood loss. Though, what can we use to stop stupidity. We I´d say learning is the best way in which someone can realize they´re being controlled. Of course this stuff happens more in the third world. Nonetheless, I bet there is a few fanatics in developed nations as well. Anyhow, since the Catholic church works alongside governments in Latin America, it is impossible for them to even consider opprobrium from the press. Not that I want to write a treatise on theology. Notwithstanding, do I want get my point across. In order chide any religion for something we think they`ve done wrong, it is always better to understand them fully. Opening your mouth unbidden to say anything dumb against them doesn't make sense. I think man created faith, so that his hopes for a better world wouldn't´ wither away. People need something to grasp on. They wouldn´t be able to accept the unpalatable truth if they didn´t have faith. Lastly, we may not know whether or not the Elysian Fields are real. It seems arcane to us. What we can infer though, is that there is nothing to be sure about until we actually see it. Whither future religious beliefs? I don´t know.

On Thursday, I am going on a field trip to Caral, which is the oldest city in America (continent). It is located 200 km at the north of Lima. So, basically, I´ll be watching these ancient ruins from close-up and trying to get good photos. This Friday, I´ll tell you more about this place. Luckily, we´ll be there just one day. Even though I am not exactly pumped up, I still want to go. It takes like two ours to get there, though it´s worth it. Peru does have several touristic attractions. Apart from unique natural resources. If it weren´t for them, our economy would be fucked up. Anyhow, since I don´t know much about this place, it is hard to tell how much I will enjoy this trip. Whether or not to about overzealous about visiting such an attraction is up to people. Nonetheless, I´d suggest you do that before you get to know Machu Picchu and Nazca Lines. I know I bleat about how crappy public transport (among other stuff) in this country. However, there is a few things a appreciate about it. One is its food, and the other one is obvious (places to visit). Besides, I don't want to dispel your enthusiasm if you want to come here. If you do, I´d told you to beware of pickpockets. Despite the fact that there is a few, you gotta be careful. Some exclusives parts of Lima for instance, have better security. Notwithstanding, there are other parts which do not have that much safety measures. Moreover, from the outset of time, there has always been at least a bit trouble anywhere you go. Our substrate may be blessed, our people are not though. Ignorance remains in our society as if it were a zit in someone's face. It seems as if local authorities were to rely on attrition to remain in power. Indeed, those things happen. You don't need rumor-mongers to see that. Albeit, there are also people like me, who wake up in the wee ours and never lose hope. Maybe my city is not exactly burgeoning. Barring problems though, it has progressed at slug's speed. I won't blind myself with sophistry. Although, any kind of progress invokes positivism in me.

In this pithy essay I'll be talking about heavy hitters in Latin America. These monsters can do it all (almost) with the blink of an eye. Some of them do not merit their success. This bunch of SOBs would stop at nothing to get what they want. Usually they own big corporations, shaft their staff and pocket most of profit. Of course this is illegal. That is why they buy the authorities. So that not only can they do that, but also they can expand their infrastructure as much as they want. Most of their actions engender controversy. Anyhow, let us narrow down the sectors in which these bastards operate. Apart from the politics, the educational sector is most popular among these guys. For instance, one of them gains popularity and more money by joining a shoo-in party. After a while they make enough to found a private college. However, they usually partner up with some other greedy fella to fulfill their ambition. Ergo, they do not have to spend all of their capital. Besides, they can always cheat their partner and keep the whole business. Others run solo, but you get the point. Since the masses are usually extremely ignorant, they'll believe whatever these big monsters offer them. The zealous idiots send their children to these expensive schools expecting them to have the best education. How can they afford them?. Well, you would be surprised if I told you how much these people make in the food industry. Long story short, they live in crappy houses, but they still can send their kids to private schools. Little do they know that these big guys do not give a darn about education. Just because you see a big scary campus does not mean that the school is good. The problem in the third world that there are too many universities in their main cities. Most of the private ones are as expensive as the ones in the US by the way. Not that I am trying to malign the system. That is what happens though. Anyway, if I were too concerned about the crap that happens in this world, I would have become a rageaholic. That is why I try to take it easy, without stopping to be well meaning occasionally. Not that I am an iconoclast, but most of what I said is true. Still is there a few exceptions when it comes to private colleges. However, I'd say that I trust public schools better due to the aforesaid reasons. Yeah, you heard it well in the third world there are public colleges.

Fetishizing achieving a goal is pointless. What makes it happen is our actions. Ergo, it is important to look for ways to break the stereotype on how to fulfill our dreams. For instance I´d like to parlay my skill at singing into my teaching career. Most teachers are pigeonholed as lackluster individuals. However, that is not true whatsoever. There are lots of "T-shirts" I grant you. Nonetheless, there is also a bunch of good educators out there too. I can even admit that for instance the following happens: In underdeveloped countries engineers are hired to teach math at some public schools. The same happens with other courses. Due to the fact that unemployment forces them to work wherever. Notwithstanding, as they say: ¨Let the cobbler stick to his last¨. Besides, what allows mistakes such as the aforesaid to happen is ignorance. As well as the irresponsibility of our local governments. The less educated the masses are, the better for politicians. It is easy to control an uneducated folk. Albeit, taking visceral reactions to solve this problem would not be smart. Most leaders who have revolted against their authorities have perished. Despite, the fact that a few succeeded, it is not worth dying for something that can be solved differently. Further, we are in the 21st century. Therefore, peace must reign. A better education system can be educed by reforms and constant improvements. Although, for that to be accomplished, a type of war between local authorities an educators should take place. It could be an intellectual war. Unfortunately, those do not work so well in the 3rd world. Since I don't want to contradict myself , I would stick with peaceful methods though. Moreover, if things get tough, I would punk out. Just kidding. Be that as it may, if I had to choose between chunking a rock at a cop and running; I would pick the latter. Not that I'm ever going to physically rise against any dictatorship. To me barbaric methods are inane in most cases. Besides, I am a free thinker, not a political activist. No matter how vindictive I were. I would rather help from the sidelines. Lastly, I'd say that all I've said in this writing is not 100% certain. Ergo, do not arrive to the wrong conclusion.

If one of these days I wake up groggy, I don´t Know what I am going to do. I mean, since I love writing. However, I do need to stop once in a while. Besides, only this year my posts have totaled 100. Nonetheless, it does not mean I would halt permanently. I know I would be flaking out if I were to give up this blog. Apart from that I would bum myself out. You have no idea how much this small space means to me. I would be left blubbering like a baby if I did not have it. Anyhow, after all I have lived through, I´ve decided to try and develop other skills I have. For instance, my passion for singing. I can tell you that after being tea-boned by an asshole, you start reconsidering things about your life. Not that I was rattled by the thought of dying. Albeit, I wanted not to waste time anymore. There will be a kicker in my favor regarding success. At least, I want to believe it. Notwithstanding, waiting is not going to make it happen faster. Sometimes, I wish somebody woke me up with a bullhorn on those lazy days. Sleeping in an hour more is pointless. Even on weekends. My friends think I am insane. They say that holidays are meant to be enjoyed. Ergo that includes kicking back a little. However, to me, al least the wee hours should be taken advantage of on weekends. That is why I tend to square off my will every morning so that I can get up early no matter what. On occasion, it does beat me though. Lastly, I would say this: You have to feed your mind with knowledge and experience. Do not let it get wasted as if it were a dust bowl.

There are interesting memes which are passed on especially from your folks . However, I think mine I got from my brother. For instance, my love for books and writing. Thus, I decided to create this blog during vacation last year. Nonetheless, I alighted on what I´m preparing to do for a living. I mean ESL teaching. Still do I remember that I was lost after I came back from a year in Canada. Soon after, I found out I could teach English if I got into a training program. I finished it and started teaching temporarily. Even though I got some trainee teaching jobs, I new I still lacked something. Ergo, I figured I needed a college degree. That´s why I did came back to school. However, it was after I almost got a job at a recognized Language center. Due to this I wasn´t exactly frisky with emotion when I learned I´d gotten accepted into school. Little did I know though, that I would meet wonderful people there. Besides, I got to get back a chance to make something out of myself. Therefore, by no means can I say that my possibilities of success were moot. Notwithstanding, I knew, things were going to be a little bit different from what I'd expected. However, by analogy, I could say the following: Just like gardener prunes the larger branches off a tree, one has to learn to correct their mistakes along the way. Now, I Know I must follow through with my program. The advent of a new era for ELT is around the corner. Further, no failure can overawe me now. I may not be able to soothsay the future. Though, I can work towards a better one. Lastly, I'd say that the idiom "There is strength in numbers" has lots of relevance in everyday life. That is why for instance, I think families who have gotten riven in the past, at least should try to get along. It would be one of the things that should be done to reach an idyllic society.

Even though I am doing my usual stuff these days, it´s not enough. I have to bestir myself and start looking for a permanent job. Not that I'm not being serious now. However, being a full time college student takes up most of your time. They say that keeping yourself busy most of the time obviates the possibility of getting depressed. Notwithstanding, overdoing it ain't healthy. Many want to get that accolade they deserve after working their asses off for years. Though, if you die in the process, it wasn´t worth it not to rest. I´d enjoin you to do your tasks as soon as you can. Time management is key for success. As well as of course having a sanguine view of life. Anyhow, we all know there are things we consider socially awkward. Nonetheless, what was thought as deviant 50 years ago, is not excogitated as such anymore. For instance, before vegetarianism was considered outrageous, however now, people just think of it as one more accepted belief. Conversely, bumbling people are still reckoned that way. What I just said was a joke. Nonetheless, there are some exceptions to the aforesaid statement. Such as geniuses with odd ideas that turn out to be breakthroughs and even more. To think that since ancient times, inventors were coerced to stop their research cause it went against religion. If it h ad not been for the Inquisition, maybe our society would have gotten more advanced than it is now. It would be nice to see an exhibition with early inventions culled from different museums around the world. At least it seems better than accosting my professor with questions. Notwithstanding out of the two, the last choice seems more likely to happen. Lastly, I´d say that in fact having a crazy idea about how to achieve something doesn't mean you are a weirdo. As long as it works though. Further, as I said before it is important to remain optimistic despite the odds. Thus, one in while I listen to anthemic songs to make me feel better.
